NAFRCOWA COORDINATOR URGES WOMEN TO EMBRACE REGULAR EXERCISE FOR HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, KICK STARTS BI-WEEKLY ROUTINE

Mrs. Grace Amesinlola, the Coordinator of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre Officer’s Wives Association (NAFRCOWA), has urged the wives of officers and armed forces personnel to actively engage in regular physical exercise to enhance their overall well-being.

Speaking at the NAFROWA Aerobics and Walk for Healthy Living Exercise held at the Centre on Saturday, Mrs. Amesinlola emphasized that the event was motivated by her dedication to the well-being of the women and her commitment to a healthy lifestyle. She mentioned that her inspiration for organising such an event came from her superior, DEPOWA President Mrs. Oghogho Musa, who consistently advocates for maintaining fitness and good health.

Mrs. Amesinlola highlighted the importance of regular exercise for women, considering their busy schedules with work, businesses, house chores, and various other responsibilities. Stressing the array of benefits.

She stated, “Exercise is not only essential for everyone, but it is especially crucial for women. With our multitasking lifestyle, incorporating regular exercise can help reduce stress, improve blood circulation, boost immune systems, maintain a healthy weight, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.”

She announced that the exercise would become a bi-weekly routine, extending beyond the immediate community to include neighboring communities. Mrs. Amesinlola further commended the participants for their enthusiasm and massive involvement in the exercise.

Also, AVM AH Amesinlola, the Commandant of NAFRC, represented by Director of Administration Air Cdre DO Dickson, commended the NAFRCOWA Coordinator for initiating such a groundbreaking event. He emphasized the importance of personal fitness and healthy living while urging continuous efforts in organizing such activities.

The event featured a medical team offering checkups for sugar levels, blood pressure, HIV, and Hepatitis. WG Cdr KJ Ogah, the commanding officer, delivered an enlightening lecture on cervical cancer, urging women to bring their daughters to the medical center for free vaccinations. Maj MT Simeon also addressed the issue of substance abuse, sensitizing the women on the implications.
