The Electrical Electronic wing is an engineering service oriented department established in training members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to enable them to settle into civil life after their long service in the military carrier. It involves the art and science of teaching engineering craft studies.
FUNCTIONS OF THE WING- Electrical installation and maintenance.
The Electrical installation and maintenance workshop carries out training on the following:Electrical installation works and regulations,Electrical principles and related calculations and Practical works - Repairs and Maintenance of Eletronic Appliances.
The repairs and maintenance of electronics appliances is carried in Consumer Electronic Workshop. The workshop teaches the trainees on the basic principles of electronics, Installations, Maintenance and Repair of electronics appliances such as; radio, television, VCD, DVD, video cameras, telephones and computers which generally finds its application in the homes, offices and industries. The specific objective is to enable the trainees to have a good practical and theoretical knowledge of general electronics so as to be enterprising and self-reliant. - Repairs and Maintenance of Fridges and Air conditioners.
The refrigeration and air conditioning workshop is responsible training of trainees in the repairs and maintenance of fridges and air conditioning systems.
Recently, members of MDAs were nominated to take part in the courses. Also, the workshop offers National Open Apprenticeship scheme to the NDE trainees and industrial attachment students from higher institutions of learning.
