INTRODUCTION
NAFRC Physical Training wing is responsible for fitness of personnel, Civilian staff and Trainees. The wing has qualified instructors readily available to guide and train persons in the various sporting facilities. The sporting facilities available are football field, Tennis court, badminton court, other facilities include basketball, and volleyball courts. The various sporting facilities are also open for use to host communities and others for games, fitness training and leisure. Additionally, NAFRC PT manages football team, known as the NAFRC FC
STATUTORY TASK/RESPONSIBILITIES
The statutory tasks and responsibilities of NAFRC PT are as follows:
Organizing various games and sporting activities for the members of NAFRC communities and the host communities
Engaging Trainees in various sporting activities.
Organizing the barrack youths to participate in various sporting activities
Manage NAFRC FC
Organize various sports competition
Maintaining all sport facilities and equipment of the Centre.
Advice Comdt NAFRC through the Dir Coord on all physical fitness and sport activities.
Any other additional task by the Comdt.
FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Gymnasium: The Gym is equipped with modern gym equipment like the Multi Gym, treadmill, and lots more, for the relaxation of clients. There is also a massaging room in which personnel, Civilian staffs and Trainees are being attended to.
Football Field: The football field is a standard football field, which is a training and a match field for NAFRC FC and other football club training in the field. NAFRC FC is a football team setup by the Centre as a part of Corporate Social Responsibilities, the team is made up of players within and outside the Centre. The team is currently participating in Ikeja Divisional League top of group A.
Tennis Court: There are two tennis Courts in the Centre, The Courts accommodates players from the Centre and outside the Centre. NAFRC PT in collaboration with NAFRC Tennis Teams organizes competition from time to time, in which players from various clubs are invited to enhance the capacity of the players in the Centre.
Badminton Hall: There is a standard badminton court at the sports complex, where the NAFRC Community do have wonderful time playing the game. The Court is illuminated adequately for late hour game.
Volleyball Court: The courts are readily available for game.
Basketball Court: The basketball court serves the players within the Centre and Players from the neighboring communities, in which children are being trained in the game.
Partnership: The NAFRC PT partner with various sports and other stakeholders, such as DHL, various football clubs, sports federation and a cricket club.
The PT Wing of the Resettlement Centre is saddled with the responsibility of maintaining healthy standard of living for NAFRC community and its environs. Also, it serves as recreational hub for sports enthusiasts.
