Hon. Babajimi Promotes Vocational Training, Pledges continuous Support to NAFRC
Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, Chairman House Committee on Defence made a significant visit to the Nigerian Armed Forces Resttlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi on Thursday,9th May, 2024, where he facilitated vocational training for youths under his ICARE Foundation who are currently undergoing a six-week training program.
During his visit, Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benson expressed his commitment to supporting NAFRC and its initiatives, commended the center for its consistent development efforts, emphasizing its importance as a home for learning and growth.
Speaking to NAFRC press, Babajimi highlighted his past contributions, citing his facilitation of training for over 100 individuals from his constituency during his tenure as a member representing Ikorodu constituency.
He stressed the importance of providing ongoing support to participants, ensuring they are equipped to kick-start their lives after completing the training.
Further more, he engaged in discussions with the NAFRC Commandant and management team on various pertinent issues. Among these were strategies to enhance vocational training opportunities and ways to further collaborate for the benefit of the communit
In response, the Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Herbert Amesinlola, expressed gratitude to the honorable's contributions. He highlighted Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benso's efforts in facilitating an increased budget, which has been instrumental in advancing the center's initiatives.
The Commandant applauded Babajim's ongoing support and active involvement in acquiring 50 acres of land in Epe. “This acquisition will enable the center to expand its facilities and accommodate more programs, including the agricultural wing and waste management projects.”
Again, AVM Amesinlola solicited Hon. Babajimi Adegoke Benso's assistance in developing the land in Epe to enhance the center's capabilities further. He emphasized the importance of staying on trend in their respective fields and exploring new avenues for growth and innovation.
Additionally, the Commandant requested Hon. Babajimi’s support in completing accommodations for widows and orphans of soldiers. He stressed the importance of aiding the seamless integration of soldiers who have served the nation diligently, demonstrating NAFRC's commitment to supporting its community beyond training programs.
