NAFRC Holds Dinner Night to Celebrate Retiring Personnel

As part of activities marking the Passing Out Ceremony for Course 1/2025, the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) held a memorable dinner to honour the gallant men and women who have served the nation for over three decades and are now transitioning into the civil society.

The Commandant, Air Vice Marshal B.R. Mamman, warmly welcomed dignitaries, guests, and participants to the celebration, emphasizing the Centre’s unwavering commitment to preparing military personnel for a productive and fulfilling life after service. He described NAFRC as a “Citadel of Hope and Courage” a place where retiring personnel are equipped with discipline, resilience, and vocational training to navigate the realities of retirement with confidence.

He commended the participants for the dedication and discipline they exhibited throughout their six-month training, reiterating the importance of planning, self-development, and sound financial management in post-service life. The Commandant also urged retirees to be vigilant and avoid fraudulent schemes while taking advantage of benefits such as CAC business registration and consultancy services available through NAFRC.

He expressed sincere appreciation to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his unwavering support and strategic guidance. He also acknowledged the Special Guest of Honour, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Admiralty Medal, the presence of the President of DEPOWA, Mrs Oghogho Gwabin Musa, the NAFRCOWA Coordinator, Mrs Rukayat Mamman, his beloved wife and members of NAOWA, NOWA, NAFOWA, and NAFRCOWA for their continued encouragement. Also he acknowledged the Deputy Commandant, directors, instructors, partners, resource facilitators, and all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of the event.

The Special Guest of Honour, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, Admiralty Medal, was ably represented by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral M.G. Oamen (mni). In his address, he expressed profound appreciation for the patriotic service of the retiring personnel, describing it as a privilege to celebrate Course 1/2025. He congratulated both the participants and their spouses for their enduring sacrifice and commitment to national service.

He emphasized the need for retirees to apply their training meaningfully particularly by contributing to national security through intelligence sharing. He noted the persistent security challenges in the country and assured that under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the government remains firmly committed to supporting the Armed Forces in addressing these threats.

He urged the retirees to uphold the values and discipline imbibed throughout their service and commended their lifelong contributions to national unity and sovereignty. He also congratulated the Commandant for the successful completion of the course and lauded the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa OFR, for his exemplary leadership and support in the Armed Forces.

Speaking on behalf of the graduating participants, AWO Usman Bello expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life and the opportunity to be part of Course 1/2025. He also thanked the Commandant for his guidance, mentorship, and unwavering care throughout the six months training.

Other highlights of the event included the presentation of gifts to participants’ spouses, trophies and awards to outstanding companies, souvenirs to invited guests, the cutting of the cake amongst others.
